The Project

This Excellent rated BREEAM facility has been constructed for the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust.

The hospital delivers a wide range of highly-specialist cancer care including pioneering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, gene therapy and radiotherapy.

The Challenge

Construction requirements

To provide a full set of industry compliant hand over documents for a very complexed project, including Health & Safety File, O&M Manuals, Building Logbook and BREEAM User Guide.

Information to be collated over the 3-year construction period to a detailed specification defined under the projects BIM requirements.

Operational requirements

To deliver accurate validated COBie which enable the client to use their data alongside other platforms such as CAFM system.

How we did it

Process

EDocuments successfully managed the collation process from start to finish. On boarding and training the supply chain ensuring their data was accurate and compliant.

EDocuments technical staff also produced the MEP O&M manuals on behalf of the MEP contractor ensuring compliance, accuracy and consistency.

Software

Working with the project design team and digital engineers, EDocuments created bespoke asset templates to capture the required information. The inbuilt reporting tools on the EDocuments platform made it simple to review, comment and approve data in one place all with a full visible audit trail. A detailed dashboard accurately tracked progress and provided any early warnings on the programme.

Final asset information was automatically linked to as-built geospatial models which further reduced the risk of error and ensured accurate, up to date information is available for the end user.

Key Outcomes & Lessons Learnt

Now in its fully operational phase, the client continues to make use of the EDocuments platform by keeping all the information live online for its staff and FM providers, ensuring access to the most up to date information

Using EDocuments' powerful search tools, information is easily and promptly found saving users time and effort.

EDocuments' Project Manager said: “The complexed specific project requirements highlighted the importance of getting the asset templates correct at the start of the process”.
