The Project

The BREEAM rated “Excellent” building accommodates 350 desks along with flexible breakout areas, formal meeting rooms and ancillary spaces (toilets, tea points etc), a public reception, a multi-purpose function room for council meetings, and political group meeting rooms.

The car park includes more than 20 spaces with electric car charging points, and below ground infrastructure ready to link up all spaces to electric charging points in the future.

The Challenge

Construction requirements

To provide the client and their FM team accurate, approved, robust handover information including health & safety file, O&M manuals, building logbook and BREEAM building user guide, with automated asset register.

Operational requirements

To deliver validate relevant useable data in a standardised, easy to use format which can be easily updated throughout the building’s lifetime.

How we did it

Process

Using client approved templates, EDocuments worked with the supply chain, professional team, and client to collect the data required for the project Hand Over Information.

EDocuments technical staff also produced the MEP O&M manuals on behalf of the MEP contractor ensuring compliance, accuracy, and consistency.

Software

Using the built-in reporting tools, and with all reviews being carried out online, all stakeholders were kept fully informed with up-to-date progress from a project level down to asset level.

Key Outcomes and Lessons Learnt

By choosing to keep the project information live online, the client continues to have searchable, useable data that can be shared with their team

EDocuments Project Manager: “A successful project, helped by regular open and honest feedback meetings with a good interaction with an engaging Client”.
